SUMMARY:THREADS OF PRIDE: Stories of Resilience\, Love\, and Becoming
DESCRIPTION:PURCHASE TICKETS\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nJoin us to listen and enjoy the Threads of Pride: Stories of Resilience\, Love\, and Becoming storytelling event.\n\n\n\nThread of Pride Storytelling Event \nQ+ Storytellers are sharing Live Storytelling event with AGSW\, Writ Large\, taking place from 7:00pm to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday\, January 14\, at The Collective in Snowmass. These true tales are part of a collaborative effort to bring together the AGSW community with a most precious gift\, stories\, and reflections from our lives. Writ Large Curator/Director Alya Howe will support and coach those selected to participate. \nThe theme of this unique storytelling event is “Threads of Pride: Stories of Resilience\, Love\, and Becoming.” Here participants will share personal narratives that explore pivotal moments of growth\, self-acceptance\, finding community\, and navigating challenges—all aspects that resonate deeply within the Queer experience. It celebrates individual and shared journeys\, encouraging storytellers to bring forward voices representing the vast diversity of the LGBTQ+ spectrum. \nJoin us to listen to and embrace these unique points of view from members of our community on a night that celebrates their stories. \nAbout the Storytellers: \nChrista Wagner Christa’s guiding motto is to live a full\, adventurous life. Older and hopefully wiser\, she strives to greet each day with a smile and a deep breath. \nAllison Alexander Allison has spent her life following her curiosity. Growing up in a military family shaped her love for people\, community\, and the understanding that life is ever-changing. Her work centers on supporting changemakers in cultivating radical self-love to fuel heart-led missions. Since 2019\, she has called the Roaring Fork Valley home\, where she enjoys hiking or Nordic skiing with her poodle\, Zulu\, and cherishes moments with her teenage daughter—especially road trips and crafting sessions. \nMyki Jones (They/She) Myki has been writing in the Roaring Fork Valley since 2021. With experience both on stage and behind the notebook\, they find joy in creating and amplifying others’ voices through reporting and their work with The Empowered Voice magazine. Their ongoing\, beautifully messy journey of identity fuels their hope to inspire others toward self-love\, safety\, and the freedom to hold all the “chaos” that makes them who they are. \nKathy Potter Kathy lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for nearly 25 years\, raising her two children in Basalt and embracing the LGBTQ+ community throughout her life. When her son Jack came out in 7th grade\, Kathy and their family welcomed him with full acceptance. After losing Jack to suicide in 2023\, Kathy continues to champion mental health and LGBTQ+ youth through the Jack Raife Mental Health Fund\, in partnership with AspenOUT. Now living in Southport\, NC\, she remains deeply involved in Pride events\, Aspen Gay Ski Week\, and ongoing advocacy work\, offering support\, visibility\, and plenty of mom hugs wherever they’re needed. \nZack Ford (he/him) Zack is an 18-year-old transgender man who has lived throughout the valley\, including Rifle\, Basalt\, and Glenwood. A senior at Yampah Mountain High School\, he is an artist and singer with plans to study psychology or law. In the year ahead\, he hopes to overcome fear and begin sharing his art\, writing\, and music with the world. \n  \n100% of ticket sales will benefit local non-profit AspenOut. \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Get in Touch.
