DESCRIPTION:Join G4G Rocky Mountains as we once again partner with LiftUp to help those with food insecurities.\n\nSIGN UP HERE \n \nWe are back in Glenwood this month to help those in need. We need volunteers to help prepare a meal and serve it to patrons coming in. Food needs to be soft in nature since many of the people have dental issues. \nDate: Monday\, August 28\, 2023\nTime: 4:30pm-6:30pm\nLocation: First United Methodist Church\, 824 Cooper Ave\, Glenwood (Entrance to basement is in rear of building)\nAdditional Details: Donations would also be welcomed: Patrons have toiletry needs (think small bottles of body wash\, deodorant\, shampoo\, etc.)\, small cans or bags of cat food and/or dog food is also encouraged since many have pet companions as well.  Additionally\, if you have any clothing you’d like to donate\, bring that as well!  We can always use bags of ice\, bottled water or if someone would like to donate reusable water bottles (that’s even better)\, and to-go containers. \n\n\nGay For Good mobilizes lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer (LGBTQ+) and ally volunteers to promote diversity\, foster inclusion and strengthen ties to the broader community.\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:AspenOUT is thrilled to announce the launch of our new Leadership & Scholarship Program. We are now accepting applications from Juniors and Seniors from Aspen High School\, Basalt High School\, Roaring Fork High School\, CRMS and Glenwood High School. Leadership training will be based on a therapeutic recreation model and delivered by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Leadership Training will be 2 hours once a month from October through May. All participants who complete the program and the identified responsibilities will receive a $5\,000 scholarship for\ncollege ($1\,250 a year for four years) or vocational school (paid out based on number of years). \nFind the full program description HERE. \nGoals:\n1. Empower young leaders to promote tolerance\, inclusivity\, compassion\, and LGBTQ rights.\n2. Strengthen the Gender & Sexualities (GSA) Clubs at involved area high schools.\n3. Strengthen communications and fun interactions between high school GSAs in the Valley.\n4. Over the years we have partnered with Gender & Sexuality Alliances (GSA) and students across the state to create a forum for students\, parents and guardians\, and educators to gather\, learn\, and dialogue through various workshops\, panels\, and interactive sessions. Participants have the opportunity to interact with peers and mentors\, meet new people\, share their experiences\, shift and deepen their understanding\,  and improve their capacity to promote constructive change for LGBTQ+ students in Colorado. While the primary focus of this event is by and for young people\, parents\, college students\, and other allied community members are all warmly welcomed. \n\n\n\nWorkshop Proposal Application\nOne Colorado is seeking Workshop Proposals for our 2023 Queer Youth Summit. Workshops from youth serving organizations and those that are youth-led will be prioritized. DESCRIPTION:Pitkin County Library is hosting a monthly book club for teenagers 14-18 years old to explore Queer literature. Scan the QR Code to find out more and sign up. \nIt is essential that all individuals have the opportunity to see themselves represented in the literature they read. However\, this can be a challenge for queer teens. We aim to establish a safe space for the LGBT+ youth and their supporters to congregate and connect over queer literature.
