Formally established in 1996 as a 501(c) (3) organization, AspenOUT, also known as the Roaring Fork Gay & Lesbian Community Fund, provides support and services to the diverse LGBTQ+ population of the Roaring Fork Valley. We are best known for our Q+ Winter Community gathering event in January, Aspen Gay Ski Week (AGSW), celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2027.
Our Mission
AspenOUT is dedicated to empowering the LGBTQIA+ (Q+) community and their families across the Roaring Fork Valley, nationwide and worldwide via digital curricula. Through innovative programming, vital resources, and strategic financial support, we champion the well-being of all queer individuals—lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and beyond—fostering a culture of understanding and belonging. We alleviate the financial barriers to essential specialized therapy for families, cultivate the potential of Q+ youth through empowerment initiatives, and build a vibrant community for adults and allies through engaging programs.

Mental Health Fund
AspenOUT has a growing need for mental health services in the Aspen and Roaring Fork Valley area. We have provided over 1000+ therapy hours in the past two years to folks in need.

The Roaring Fork Gay and Lesbian Fund (dba AspenOUT) prides itself on providing safe spaces for LGBTQ+ folks to thrive and blossom. Whether it be our monthly gatherings at the Artbase or youth hikes through the mountains of Aspen and Snowmass, AspenOUT is committed to enriching the lives of locals to ensure we have a healthy and strong community.

AspenOUT grew with only one staff member and a Board of Directors, anchored by AGSW as a grassroots community gathering for Q+ Winter Sports. While AspenOUT is best known for producing Aspen Gay Ski Week, we strive to support the development of a strong local Gay, Lesbian, Bi, and Transgender community with programs and initiatives.
