AspenOUT is thrilled to announce the launch of our new Leadership & Scholarship Program. We are now accepting applications from Juniors and Seniors from Aspen High School, Basalt High School, Roaring Fork High School, CRMS and Glenwood High School. Leadership training will be based on a therapeutic recreation model and delivered by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Leadership Training will be 2 hours once a month from October through May. All participants who complete the program and the identified responsibilities will receive a $5,000 scholarship for college ($1,250 a year for four years) or vocational school (paid out based on number of years). Find the full program description HERE. Goals: 1. Empower young leaders to promote tolerance, inclusivity, compassion, and LGBTQ rights. 2. Strengthen the Gender & Sexualities (GSA) Clubs at involved area high schools. 3. Strengthen communications and fun interactions between high school GSAs in the Valley. 4. On the 4th Tuesday of each month, The Art Base and AspenOUT welcome our local LGBTQIA+ community and allies come together to socialize, make art, network, and have fun with or without an adult beverage. The class will feature a variety of projects in a variety of media. All levels are welcome. You will feel comfortable exploring creativity if you have no experience making art and have fun if you are an accomplished working artist, all in a safe environment, which is why Creations and Libations was conceived. $20/class. This class will go through the techniques of using soft pastels, including composition, layering, color theory, and more.
