  • Creations & Libations at The Art Base

    On the 4th Tuesday of each month, The Art Base and AspenOUT welcome our local LGBTQIA+ community and allies come together to socialize, make art, network, and have fun with or without an adult beverage. The class will feature a variety of projects in a variety of media. All levels are welcome. You will feel comfortable exploring creativity if you have no experience making art and have fun if you are an accomplished working artist, all in a safe environment, which is why Creations and Libations was conceived. $20/class. If you enjoy cartoons, comic book art, fantasy and animation then this class is right up your alley. Join master cartoonist Brian Weller and delve into the world of 2D Illustration. Students will learn how to create custom characters from scratch using templates, and cover drawing styles from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s,and today! This is a zany and toon filled class that inspire you to the looniest.

  • Gay for Good Wildlife Sanctuary Service Project

    Gay for Good Rocky Mountains is partnering with the Pauline S. Schneegas Wildlife Foundation to help clean their resident bobcat cages by scraping up old bedding, hosing, disinfecting, and placing new bedding. Volunteers may also help rewrap bird perches with rope which helps prevent a foot infection called bumblefoot that's common in captive birds and clean some of their resident bird cages as well. Volunteers will receive a tour of the facility and get to the other residents housed at the facility. Our work will directly impact the bobcats, eagles, and black bird populations at the facility. Date: Sunday, August 27th, 2023 Time: 8:30am-12:30pm Location: 5945 County Road 346, Silt, Co Additional Details: Please wear clothes that can dirty and sturdy, close-toed shoes. Space is limited to 12 volunteers so we kindly ask that you only sign up if you are sure you can attend.   • Filmfest 2023 presented by Aspen Film

    Aspen Film Isis Theatre 406 East Hopkins Ave., Aspen, CO

    Aspen Film presents its 44th Filmfest. This annual fall festival is known to showcase top filmmaking talent from around the world, featuring films that have premiered at the Cannes, Sundance, Telluride, Toronto, and Venice film festivals.   • One Colorado Tour in Glenwood Springs

    First United Methodist Church of Glenwood Springs 824 Cooper Avenue, Glenwood Springs, CO

    One Colorado is kicking off a statewide education and outreach tour at the end of September to connect with communities in 15 cities throughout the state. From Colorado Springs to Fort Collins, from Grand Junction to Aurora, from Pueblo to Glenwood Springs, we are hitting the road to hear about what matters most to Coloradans in a time when the LGBTQ+ community is facing unprecedented attacks. From the over 520 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced in legislatures across the country to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in the 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis case to the current constitutional ban on same sex marriage in Colorado, we know we can’t back down. We must come together to talk about how this climate is impacting us and our families, and what we can do to organize together for a brighter future. Register HERE

  • One Colorado’s 2023 Queer Youth Summit

    One Colorado is excited to bring back the Queer Youth Summit this year! The Summit is a 1-day forum welcoming LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, parents, and educators for speakers and workshops to learn, share, dialogue, and connect in support of LGBTQ+ students. About the Queer Youth Summit One Colorado developed the first Queer Youth Summit in 2014 to establish create a welcoming and safe environment for LGBTQIA+ students in Colorado schools to address the issues and challenges they face. Over the years we have partnered with Gender & Sexuality Alliances (GSA) and students across the state to create a forum for students, parents and guardians, and educators to gather, learn, and dialogue through various workshops, panels, and interactive sessions. Participants have the opportunity to interact with peers and mentors, meet new people, share their experiences, shift and deepen their understanding,  and improve their capacity to promote constructive change for LGBTQ+ students in Colorado.   • Gay 4 Good ‘Trunk or Treat’ with Ascendigo

    Gay 4 Good is hosting a car trunk to give out candy to all the little ghouls and goblins. We need volunteers to help decorate the vehicle, manning the petting zoo area/gate, provide candy, and also hand out candy. We encourage everyone to dress up as well! This is a really fun event to connect with local kids and provide an inclusive, safe environment for all to trick or treat.
