Midvalley Family Practice is hosting a therapy group for adult LGBTQIA+ community members. The group meets Tuesdays from 4-5pm from August 1 - September 26 at their Basalt office, 1450 East Valley Road, Suite 102.
AspenOUT hosts a FREE monthly group soak at the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs, every 2nd Friday. No reservation required. Meet inside at 7:00pm and head into the pool at 7:15. AspenOUT is thrilled to announce the launch of our new Leadership & Scholarship Program. We are now accepting applications from Juniors and Seniors from Aspen High School, Basalt High School, Roaring Fork High School, CRMS and Glenwood High School. Leadership training will be based on a therapeutic recreation model and delivered by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Leadership Training will be 2 hours once a month from October through May. All participants who complete the program and the identified responsibilities will receive a $5,000 scholarship for college ($1,250 a year for four years) or vocational school (paid out based on number of years). Find the full program description HERE. Goals: 1. Empower young leaders to promote tolerance, inclusivity, compassion, and LGBTQ rights. 2. Strengthen the Gender & Sexualities (GSA) Clubs at involved area high schools. 3. Strengthen communications and fun interactions between high school GSAs in the Valley. 4. HeadQuarters Mental Fitness Fair Mental Fitness is the purposeful practice of taking care of your mind. Through this we gain the tools and skills to cope with everyday stressors, creating the resiliency to thrive. This collaborative event is designed to provide community members the opportunity to explore different modalities they can use for their mental fitness and discover mental health resources offered from Aspen to Parachute. Event Rundown 11:00 Fair Kickoff Vendors/Organizations from Aspen to Parachute will come together to highlight the tools and resources they provide to encourage Mental Fitness 11:00 – 4:00 Carnival Games Fun for the whole family! 1:00 – 1:30 HeadQuarters Special Announcements 1:30 – 2:00 Competition Lawn Games: Egg-Spoon Race (all ages), Tug-of-War, Kettle Bell Challenge 3:00 – 4:00 Breakout Workshops Workshop sessions that encourage positive Mental Fitness. The Prism Awards, formerly the Ally Awards, is One Colorado’s annual gala to honor individuals and organizations who have made a substantive difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ Coloradans and their families. The event will be hosted on Saturday, September 23rd from 6pm – 10pm at the Denver Art Museum. The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception and silent auction with a hosted bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Guests will then move to the pavilion and attendees will enjoy an awards ceremony with special guest speakers, delectable desserts, and champagne. Tickets & Sponsorships Early Bird ticket sales end August 11th. Tickets will be available for purchase at regular price until the evening of the Prism Awards on September 23rd.
